ORIENTEERING FOR ALL AGES AND GROUPS
Orienteering is a challenging outdoor sport which exercises body and mind. The aim is to navigate between control points marked on an orienteering map. In competitive orienteering, the challenge is to complete the course in the quickest time choosing the best route. You don't need expensive equipment, running clothes and trainers, including long-running trousers if the race is in the countryside.
A compass is particularly useful on the more difficult courses, but no GPS or the map on your phone, it's more about skill than technology. Most races offer a range of courses with varying degrees of navigational difficulty, so there’s something to suit all ages and levels of experience.
